In just a few weeks, we will see the return of football, colorful leaves, and cooler temperatures. We have had a very busy summer at the Lodge, and I want to thank everyone who made all the events, outings, and dinners possible. We have had multiple class reunions, two fantasy football drafts, and a few very busy dinner nights. It has been busy, but I love to see the Lodge full with members.

Our Veterans Golf Outing was a great success as we raised $4,663! This could not have been possible without the members and local businesses who sponsored the event. A big thanks to Brent Crabtree for putting this outing together. I know coordinating 84 golfers isn’t an easy task. Also, a big thanks to those who helped cook and drive the beer carts all day.

I also want to take a moment to thank a handful of members and staff for stepping up on a Friday night to help in the kitchen. Kathy, Dakota, Ryan, Nathan, Brendan, Chris, and Brent – Thank you for doing what Elks should do and helping in a time of need. We also have a deeper appreciation for what our kitchen staff does on a weekly basis, and we can’t thank them enough for their hard work.

The next few months are the busiest months of the year at the Lodge. You will want to keep your calendar up-to-date and MAKE RESERVATIONS for each event. One event that is you need to get your reservation in for today is the Cancer Dance on September 16th. We will have the John Beatrice Band and it is bound to be another wonderful event.

We will also start opening on Sundays for Colts games with volunteer bartenders and a pitch-in with food. If you are interested in bartending, there will be a sign-up sheet on the board (you will need to have your bartending license). You can DO THE BLUE with us and have fun watching the Colts.

One last note: It’s important to remember that most things at the Lodge would not be possible without the members and volunteers. We need to continue to support each other and embody the spirit of being an Elk. Be kind and treat each other with respect.
