From the Exalted Ruler
We need to hit on a business item right away on my last newsletter. It is imperative for you to pay your dues (and in a timely fashion).
There are a few reasons why: 1. Our Lodge is still responsible for paying $37 per member regardless of if you pay or not. 2. If you do not pay, the Lodge will drop you from our membership. When this happens, you are not allowed into any Lodge in the USA unless you go through a reapplication process. 3. If you pay your dues before April 1, 2024, we are going to draw 4 members to receive free dues for the year.
As you pay your dues, remember to donate to the Elks National Foundation (ENF). We receive over $11,000 of grants each year from the ENF. If every member donates $5, we will not have to hold any fundraisers for the ENF this year.
Now to the thank you portion: I would like to thank everyone for allowing me to be your Exalted Ruler one more time. It’s an honor that will be with me forever. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my wife, Lisa Hacker. I couldn’t have done this without the support of the officers, Kathy, and the entire staff. Finally, thank you to my friends that have been by my side during both years of being ER. I have life-long friends who make the whole experience worth it.
I hope the members continue to support the next group of officers: Your new Exalted Ruler will be Mark Bowers II. He will do a great job and thank him for taking over this role. It’ll be hard, but you have a great support system.
