The holiday season is officially kicking off this month and that means it’s about to get extremely busy at the Lodge. It’s important to get your reservations made now and keep your calendar up to date.

I want to take a moment to thank our Veterans. Thank you for your service and everything to do for our Lodge. I hope you can all join us in celebrating with all the Veterans on November 11th for our Veterans Dance. It’s one of our larger fundraisers for Veterans and we would love to have a packed house.

Make sure to sign up for the MEMBERS ONLY THANKSGIVING DINNER. The sign-up sheet is at the bar, and it is open to all current members. The dinner is on November 20th, and it has always been a great night. If you are a new member, this is an event you will not want to miss. We serve a free Thanksgiving dinner for our members, and we also raise some money through raffles to help buy Christmas gifts for children.

Another reservation you need to make now is for Thanksgiving Eve. The night before Thanksgiving has grown into one of the best party nights of the year. Please make plans to come up and have some fun before you deal with all the hustle and bustle on Thanksgiving Day.

Don’t forget to buy your Indiana Lucky Bucks calendar. The calendars cost $20, and you have 365 chances to win. Every Sunday-Friday, they draw for $100. Every Saturday, they draw for $250. On the 4th of July and Christmas, they draw for $2,500. Pleas see me or a bartender if you would like to purchase one. They make great stocking stuffers.

Lastly, I just want to thank everyone that helped in the kitchen when we were in need. We can’t do the stuff we do without awesome members and staff. Don’t ever be afraid to lend a helping hand if you ever feel like we need help. I hope everyone has a safe a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello!

October was a great month and we appreciate seeing all of you.

If you have not made your reservations for the Veteran’s dance, please do so today. This is a pre-pay event so please pick your table and entree. After dinner, the Cosmic Situation Band will provide the entertainment.

The annual Thanksgiving dinner for members is scheduled for Monday, November 20, at 6:00 pm. Please see any officer or staff member to sign up for this as having an accurate count for meal preparation is crucial. As always, this meal is provided free of charge but only to members of our lodge (in good standing).

If you are planning to spend Thanksgiving eve with us (and we hope that you are), please make your dinner reservations as early as possible. This is typically one of the busiest nights of the entire year for our kitchen. A reservation is the only way to guarantee you have a table and also ensure we are properly prepared to serve our members. After dinner, we will welcome a new to the Elks group, the Doo Band. Just a reminder; tables will only be reserved to those joining us for dinner.

The Hedrick’s already have the 2023 Children’s Christmas drive underway and we ask that you donate to this cause. Due to the generosity of the Elks 484 membership, many Henry County children will be provided special gifts as well as some necessities for Christmas. We anticipate the need to be high this year but are confident we can meet it. Recipients will be our guests for dinner and a visit with Santa on the evening of Tuesday, December 12.

Breakfast with Santa will be mentioned again in December’s newsletter but for those eager to mark their holiday calendars now, that date is Saturday, December 2. The sign up sheet is available and our volunteers would love to know in advance how many are planning to attend.

The lodge will be closed on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24.

On behalf of entire Elks 484 team, we wish you a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!!

Hope to see you soon!
