July is here and we are continuing our fundraising and events this summer! I wanted to start by giving you an update on our Cancer Golf Outing. I believe set a record on the total amount raised with a final amount of $6,110.

We’re lucky to have so many great members and local businesses supporting this cause. I want to thank everyone that helped pull this outing off this year. Brent Crabtree – Thanks for putting this all together. Chris Lacy and the Memorial Park Golf Course Staff – Thank you for letting us play the best course in Henry County. Deb Miller and Lisa Hacker – Thank you for feeding all of us. Beverage Cart Ladies – Thank you for making sure no one went thirsty during the hot summer day.

Now to the rest of July:

Hopefully we could see the return of the Treasure Hunt drawing starting up in early July. On July 23rd, we will have a cookout on the patio to celebrate our great employees. On July 29th, we will be having a brand-new Luau Party with a hog roast. We hope to have some entertainment on the patio that evening. Bring your chairs and enjoy a beautiful summer evening at the Lodge.

Normally, things tend to slow down a little during the summer months as people travel and have outdoor plans. I encourage all of you to keep supporting our Lodge during these months (lunch, dinner, events). I hope you all have a great summer and stay safe!

From the Club Operations Manager

Hello! I hope this finds you well and enjoying the summer sunshine. With not much coming up this month to talk about, I thought I would instead use this opportunity to remind you about the busy fall months that are right around the corner.

Once September hits we begin the mad-dash to the end of the year with various Elks events and holiday parties.

Just between now and Thanksgiving, we already have the following on our lodge calendar:

Veterans Golf Outing
Cancer Dance
Halloween Party (ENF)
Veterans Dance

As you know, these are fundraising events and in order for them to be successful, we need your participation. Spending an evening socializing with fellow Elks is especially meaningful when we are coming together in order to give back to worthy causes. Please show your support by attending. I would also like to remind that signup/reservation sheets (made available before major events) are important. We order food, plan meals and adjust staffing needs according to the number of guests we are expecting.

Hope to see you soon!
