From The Exalted Ruler

If I didn’t see you up at the Lodge in November, you must have been out of town! It was an extremely busy month, and it was great to see all our members taking advantage of our different events and opportunities.

Our Elktoberfest Party was a huge success and I want to thank everyone who made it a wonderful evening. We were able to raise $1,313 for the Elks National Foundation. This helps us hit our giving goals for the year and will help us receive a bonus of $2,000 in additional grant money for our food pantry and coat program for the New Castle Community Schools.

The Veterans Party was amazing and we raised $1,904 for our Veterans. This total, plus out total from the Veterans Golf Outing, puts us at $6,667 for the year. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible. And a special thanks to Cinda McMillan for all your hard work this year with our dances and parties.

If you haven’t been up to the Lodge, make sure to stop and see our new flooring made possible by New Castle Main Street and their grant program (thanks Chris Wilkey for applying and winning this grant). We received $15,000+ in grants to redo our flooring and to also put in 2 new A/C units. Thanks to New Castle Heating and Cooling and Henry County Flooring for their amazing work. As we hit the holiday season, remember to support those who support our Lodge, including the businesses in downtown New Castle.

And finally, a few holiday reminders as we reach the end of the year. 1) Make sure to sign up for Breakfast with Santa on December 2nd at 10AM. Darla Miller and her team of elves work hard to make this event memorable for all the kids. 2) Stop and see Gary and Robin Hedrick to make your donation for the CPS Kids Christmas. 3) Our Tom and Jerry Party is a long-standing tradition and runs from 4-6PM on Christmas Eve. All members are welcome. 4) Make your New Years Eve plans with us and listen to the Sean Lamb and Janet Miller Band as we enter 2024! 5) We have our Elks Memorial Service on December 3rd. 6) Colts games on Sundays are open to all members and we’ll be open for the rest of the season.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year,
Mike Hacker

From the Club Operations Manager

Hello! It is hard to believe that we are in the last month of 2023. We extend gratitude to all that supported the New Castle Elks. We are ready to finish strong and take on 2024!

Of course, our partnership with the New Castle Department of Child Services continues and the collection for our annual children’s Christmas party is still underway. If you have not donated and would like to, please see Gary Hedrick.

Both Christmas and New Years Eve lodge hours have been adjusted so please note the following information:

On Sunday, December 24 (Christmas Eve) the lodge will open at 3:00pm. The Tom and Jerry party will be held from 4-6pm. As a reminder, no reservations will be accepted for this event and the club closes promptly at 6 so that our employees may enjoy time with family and friends.

The Bingo Hall will be closed on Sunday December 24

On Sunday, December 31, the lodge will open at 4pm. Dinner will be served from 5:30 – 8:30 and the band is set to play from 9am-1am. Please make your dinner reservations as soon as possible so that we may plan accordingly.
