October 2024
From The Exalted Ruler:
What a way to end September with a hurricane coming through!

We also ended September in a rush. Thanks to all who volunteered or played in the Veterans golf outing this year. A great time was had by all. Thanks again to Derek Felix and the Soul Miners for making our Cancer fundraiser dance a huge success. We had a great turnout!

Looking toward October we have some special events planned. We will be participating in a bar crawl in New Castle on October 19. We will be the last stop on the crawl and will have DJ Barracuda. Tickets for that event can be purchased here (it is being hosted by New Castle Main Street)

Our Elktoberfest will be October 26 and will start around 6pm. Josh Lawson’s band will be playing that night. Should be a fun evening for everyone. Come join us for brats, pretzels and a good time. You can buy your tickets at the Lodge or online here.

As always, come up, have dinner or a few cold beverages and support your lodge. Your lodge needs you.

From The Club Operations Manager:
Another fall season has arrived which means the holidays are right around the corner!

The next newsletter you receive will formally kick off the rush to the end of the year so please take a moment to note the following dates and add them to your fall/early winter calendars:

The lodge will host an Eltoberfest party on Saturday, October 26, with proceeds benefiting the Elks National Foundation (ENF). The Frosty Mojo band will provide the entertainment. You can buy your tickets at the Lodge or online here.

Saturday, November 9, is our annual veterans’ dance/fundraiser. Reservation sheets are now available. With limited seating capacity, it is important to make sure you reserve as soon as possible.

On Monday, November 25, we will serve the membership Thanksgiving meal at 6pm. Please see any officer or staff member to sign up for this as having an accurate count for meal preparation is crucial. As always, this meal is provided free of charge but only to members in good standing. If you need to pay your dues, you can do so at the Lodge or online here.

If you are planning to spend Thanksgiving eve with us (and we hope that you are), please make your dinner reservations early. This is one of the busiest nights of the entire year and a reservation is the only way to ensure you have a table and that we are able to provide an awesome meal. Sean Lamb and the Janet Miller Band will be joining us for the night. Please remember that tables are only reserved for those having dinner.

Last, just a reminder that the 2024 Children’s Christmas drive will be well underway by the first of next month. Due to the generosity of the Elks 484 membership, many Henry County children will be provided special gifts as well as some necessities for Christmas.
