From The Exalted Ruler: |
Greetings, my fellow Elks. April has come and gone, and May has arrived. I hope everyone remembered to pay their membership dues. If you haven’t done so yet, please take care of it as soon as possible. Dues were due on April 1st, and we have already sent our check to Grand Lodge for this year. Please note that if you are delinquent with your dues, you will lose access to the Lodge, entry into all drawings (daily, weekly, monthly), the ability to purchase food and drinks, and access to our events. If you have paid your dues but have not received your membership card, please speak to an Officer, and we will be happy to assist you. I hope everyone who attended the ER Ball had a wonderful time.It was a fun evening and a big thank you goes to Kathy Crabtree and Shelly Hinshaw for decorating the club. Once again, Chris Wilkey has been hard at work securing grants for the Lodge. I am pleased to announce that our 2025-2026 Beacon Grant application has been approved, providing us with $6,000 to purchase coats for children in our community. In addition, the 2025-2026 Gratitude Grant application has also been approved. This money, approximately $4,000, will be used to stock our food pantry. Great job, Chris! Your ENF donations have made this happen. Please continue to donate with your dues or at other events at the Lodge. Thank you for help. We have a few upcoming events this month that you should mark onyour calendar: 1. The Kentucky Derby Party will be held on Saturday, May 3rd. Get your Derby hat ready for the Best Hat Contest and enjoy a Mint Julep at the bar. The Derby party will start at 4 PM. 2. The PER Ball is on Saturday, May 10th. Dinner will be served from 6 PM to 8:30PM, followed by Riding Roughshod Band starting at 9 PM. Please make your reservations at the bar to show our Past Exalted Rulers your appreciation for their contributions to the Lodge. 3. This year’s Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 26th. The Officers (and volunteers) and I will be hosting the annual Memorial Day breakfast. For a free will donation, join us for breakfast before the parade. Starting from 8 AM until 9:30 AM, we will be serving biscuits and gravy or pancakes and sausage. I look forward to seeing everyone at the Lodge. Paul Groce Exalted Ruler |
