February 2023 Newsletter
From the Exalted Ruler
Our fundraiser for January was another successful bar crawl. Mike Hacker and Chris Wilkey did a great job organizing this event which resulted in a nice donation to the Miracle League Diamonds. I am thankful for all of our staff, officers and volunteers who have helped us in our dedication to charity and community support. As we head into February, here are the things to note: At our first Lodge meeting this month, we will have NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICERS for the upcoming year. Anyone can be an officer and we want to have a strong leadership team as we go into next year. If you are interested, please let me know. The lodge will open at 5pm on February 12 for a SUPER BOWL PARTY. Bring a pitch-in dish and watch the game with us Our VALENTINE’S DINNER is on February 18th. We are planning a great dinner and are excited to be having a local favorite, Cory Cox, performing. Make sure to prepay at the Lodge as soon as possible to secure your reservation. Spots are filling up quickly.
From the Club Operations Manager
Hello! The TREASURE HUNT DRAWING resumed in January and we will be playing every Saturday with the exception of special event nights. A SUPER BOWL PARTY will be held at the lodge on February 12 beginning at 5pm. This is a pitch-in so bring your favorite sharable dish and watch the game with some entertaining characters. Please plan to join us on Saturday the 18th for our VALENTINE DANCE! We ask that you reserve your dinner spots as soon as possible. Available seating is already limited considering (Pendleton, Indiana native) Corey Cox will be providing the entertainment after dinner. So that we are always properly prepared, on this, and on future special event nights, dinner will not be guaranteed without a reservation and it must be pre-paid. As the current officer’s year is nearing an end, I want to express gratitude to each of them that have given their time and resources to our lodge. Volunteering for a leadership role is gratifying for most but it does not come without its challenges and sacrifices. It is difficult to implement needed change while staying true to so many practices that make our club a standout. Most businesses have struggled the past couple of years and unfortunately, many lodges have closed. It is only because of the 484 membership, and those who lead it, that we are still here. While opinions often differ on the route to take, we have one shared goal and that is to ensure that our lodge is here for future generations! Hope to see you soon
